Physics Lesson Plan of velocity definition

The time rate of change of displacement of an object in a particular direction is called its velocity.

Velocity Formula
Velocity = Displacement / Time taken 
Its SI unit is m/s.
It is a vector quantity, as it has both, the magnitude and direction.
The velocity of an object can be positive, zero or negative.

If an object undergoes equal displacements in equal intervals of time, then it is said to be moving with a uniform velocity.

A body is said to be moving with variable velocity if its speed or direction or both change with time.
For example, consider a body circulating around a circle with uniform speed. Its velocity is variable as its direction changes with motion.

Consider a body moving with variable velocity. Then the ratio of total displacement to the total time interval is called average velocity.

Average velocity = total displacement/total time
